Commissioner’s Welcome

The NCL Spring Season is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to see students and coaches across the country getting ready to dive into the competition rounds. This is a season full of opportunity, an opportunity to challenge yourself, grow your skills, and experience firsthand the excitement of hands-on cybersecurity.

As you prepare, I strongly encourage everyone - students and coaches alike - to explore the NCL Gym. It’s more than just practice challenges; it’s a chance to develop confidence, try new strategies, and strengthen technical skills before the competition begins. Coaches, this is a great way to guide your students, plan lessons, and make sure everyone feels ready to tackle the season ahead.

On the horizon is NCL Spirit Week, a week of community events and career-focused activities designed to help you take the next steps in cybersecurity. Alongside Spirit Week, there will be other ways to stay connected, share knowledge, and prepare for both the season and your future in the field. These events are designed to inspire and equip participants at every stage of their journey.

Now is also the perfect time to become active in the NCL Discord community. For students, it’s a place to collaborate, ask questions, and learn from peers. For coaches, it’s an invaluable space to share strategies, exchange ideas, and discover new ways to support your team. The connections and knowledge you gain there can make a real difference throughout the season and beyond.

We’re proud of this community and everything it represents: curiosity, collaboration, and growth. Take advantage of the resources, participate in events, and connect with others - you never know where a single conversation or a single challenge might take you.

Here’s to an exciting season of learning, competing, and building the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

- David Zeichick, NCL Commissioner
